Assessment and grading
The academic progress of the students is systematically monitored by teachers and the Section Head through close observation as well as through the assessments, projects and examination. Generally, midyear exams take place in December and end-of-year exams take place in June. The grading and assessment system is made comprehensible for the students and parents to reflect upon their progress and set future targets.
At the end of Grade V, students are assessed via the Cambridge Primary Checkpoint (CPC) or Edexcel International Primary and Lower Secondary Certificate (PLSC), as IISD primary curriculum is the best combination of Cambridge International Primary Programme and Edexcel International Primary Curriculum.
The tests are marked by Cambridge International Examinations or Edexcel and provide an external international benchmark for your child’s performance.
CPC/PLSC can help your child by:
- allowing teachers to assess their learning as they progress
- giving your child a solid foundation for lifelong learning
- providing an international standard of achievement
- allowing you to track your child’s progress and identify barriers to learning
- developing their skills so that they are innovative, confident and engaged
- preparing them for Lower Secondary Checkpoint/International GCSEs
- giving them a love of learning that will stay with them through school, university and beyond.
