IISD Policies and procedures for the session of 2018-2019

PARENTS-TEACHERS COMMUNICATION (PTC)
  • You are to ensure that your child brings his/her School Diary every day.
  • You are required to check and assist consistently and regularly your child’s home assignments and sign his/her ‘Weekly/Topical Assessments Scripts’ and return them to the respective subject teachers.
  • You are asked to make sure your presence in the monthly meetings in order to acquaint with the functioning, teaching methodology, assessment and other important aspects of the school.
  • Your involvement in your child’s academics will greatly enhance his/her progress; therefore, you are encouraged to communicate with the school/teachers through various means: Student Diary, Telephone and Parents meetings. Parents may schedule a meeting with the Subject/Class Teacher, the Section Head or the Head of School as per need, by making an appointment through the School reception specifying the agenda of the meeting.
  • You are encouraged to have a good level of respect and friendly relationship between you and the officials of the school. Failing to abide by the appropriate standards of etiquettes, the offender will be dealt by the authority.
DISCIPLINE, ATTENDANCE AND ABSENCES
  • You are required to keep an Islamic environment at home and your child is obliged to follow and respect Islamic disciplines.
  • You are obliged to ensure the proper school uniform set by the school for your child at school. Students wearing improper uniform will be sent back home.
  • The boys must have a proper haircut. The hair must be cut above the ears and must neither cover the forehead nor belong at the back. The boys must wear their pants above the ankles.
  • Long nails, nail polish, makeup, and other decorative ornaments are completely restricted. Colouring or highlighting hair and plucking of eyebrows are also prohibited.
  • CD/DVD, Mobile, mp3 players, comics, cards, film-magazine or posters are not allowed in the school.
  • Disruptive behavior and abusive language will not be tolerated and stern action will be taken against the student/parents involved in such actions.
  • Students may be detained after school as a punishment from any violation of school rules.
  • You are not generally allowed to loiter around the campus. If you travel a far distance to escort your child to school and need to stay for a while on the campus, then you have to take written permission from the authority of the school.
  • You are also not permitted to bring children to the classroom, nor are you allowed to visit a classroom for the purpose of checking a student, or talk with a teacher while he/she is monitoring his/her students.
  • Your child must attend school and report on time every day. If your child is absent or late, he/she must bring a written note from you (parents) explaining the reason. If a student is late, more than 3 times in a month, he/she will not be allowed to enter the school and the parents will be notified.
  • In case of a planned leave of absence, you must submit a ‘Leave Application Form’ available at the school reception, giving details and reason for the leave at least 1 (one) week ahead. In case of an unexpected absence, you should submit the form on the day your child returns to school.
  • If a student is absent for more than 30 (thirty) days without written notification, the School has the right to suspend him/her.
FEE POLICY AND FINES
  • From July 2018, the tuition fee is payable by the 10th of each month for all 12 calendar months. The full fee is applicable throughout, regardless of students’ leave of absence.
  • If dues are not paid for two consecutive months, the student is liable for suspension. The child will be allowed to come to the school only after the fee is paid in full. A re-registration fee of BDT. 5000 (Five Thousand) will also be charged.
  • Fines are levied on damage to school property, library books, ID cards, etc.
